2017-18 Primary School 5-a-side Football Invitation Competition

With a brilliantly comfortable weather, the second “Primary School 5-a-side Football Invitation Competition” was successfully held on 21st October 2017, special thanks to honoured participation of St. Joseph’s Anglo-Chinese Primary School, Kowloon Bay St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, St. Edward’s Catholic Primary School, Ho Lap Primary School, PLK Grandmont Primary School, and HKFEW Wong Cho Bau School. This is the first time for us to have six invited primary school teams competing in a thrilling fixture.
St. Joseph’s Anglo-Chinese Primary School, Kowloon Bay St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School and St. Edward’s Catholic Primary School were in Group A, while HKFEW Wong Cho Bau School, Ho Lap Primary School and PLK Grandmont Primary School were in Group B. After the matches in Group Stage, St. Edward’s Catholic Primary School and PLK Grandmont Primary School finished 3rd in both groups and attended in the Bowl Competition, with the former winning in a close match. Kowloon Bay St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School and Ho Lap Primary School on the other hand took part in Shield Competition after finishing second in Group A and B. Again, with a very tight score, Kowloon Bay St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School edged past the latter and won the Shield. The most breath-taking Cup Competition was held between top teams in both groups. The match was extremely taking audience on their toes as it went on to penalty shootout. St. Joseph’s Anglo-Chinese Primary School eventually outscored HKFEW Wong Cho Bau School and was crowned the Cup Competition winner. The competition also included a top scorer award, and it went to Lai Ching Wang Dennis with his 5 goals in 3 games.
